Privacy policy

What we collect
Playing without an account
Your game save (your stage name, your character's look, money, items and progress) is stored in your own browser's local storage. It isn't sent to us unless you sign in. Clearing your browser's site data deletes it.
If you sign in
Signing in with Google or an email address is optional. If you do, we receive your email address and an account identifier from Firebase Authentication (a Google service), and we store a backup of your game save on our server so you can continue on another device. If you play the online version, your stage name, look and progress are stored on our server and shown to other players.
Purchases
In-game purchases are processed by Paystack. We receive the email address you give for the receipt, the product and a payment reference, so we can deliver what you bought. We never see or store your card details.
Messages and chat
In the online game, messages you send to other players are passed through our server to deliver them.
Technical information
Like any website, our server receives your IP address and browser details when you load a page. We use these only to run and protect the service.
Cookies and advertising
This website uses Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep account data and cloud saves while your account is in use. You can ask us to delete your account and save at any time by emailing support@essentialpopstar.com from the address on the account. Payment records may be kept as long as the law requires.
